Spring Trout Fishing Season

Stay Dri Splashing through the Spring Trout Fishing Season

by | Mar 21, 2023

You’re out on the lake on a breezy cold morning. As you watch the sunrise, a trout splashes, breaking the water’s surface and fighting for its life on your line. You got a big one! Don’t let it get away! While you and the fish play an early game of tug-o-war, getting you and your clothes wet. Thank God you bought that VersaDri portable dryer. You did, didn’t you?

Well, if you haven’t, continue to read below, and let me tell you just WHY you need to order one.

Why I’ll Never Again Fish without my Portable Dryer

I used to grab my trusty rod and reel, a tackle box full of lures, hooks, sinkers, and my waders. After that, I used to head out to my truck with nothing on my mind. But, this was the moment when I planned to start my fishing journey that day. I had a few “secret” spots I liked to begin at on my morning expeditions. What I always considered part of the experience was coming home in wet clothes. Sure, my waders kept my bottom half pretty dry, but I found myself tossing extra shirts or jackets in my truck, and come to the end of the season, half my wardrobe was stinking and molding in there.

Then I found VersaDri, and my fishing seasons got oh so much better. No, it doesn’t help call fish or make my cast any better, BUT it does help keep my gear dry. It’s a portable 12-volt boot dryer and glove dryer, but it does much more than dry them. Check it out:

It is a MARVEL to have in my Fishing Go Bag.

The portable dryer is truly a marvelous piece of equipment, and I keep it in my truck year long, especially during my spring trout fishing adventures. Why?

M– It is Mobile. Store it in the easy-carry drawstring bag and take it anywhere.

A– Adaptability is endless, with quick attachments and warm/dry options to dry anything you bring on your fishing trip.

R– Ruggedly made attachments and the base are built to last for years and years.

V– Versatile is the product’s name, so, of course, the options are limitless. Dry your boots, shoes, gloves, hats, scarves and more!

E– The MobilDri base Evolves with your needs. Hang it from the handy tab, stick it on a magnetic surface with the Santoprene over-molded magnet on the base, or set it snuggly in the cupholder of your truck or UTV while you head out to your favorite trout fishing spot.

L-Longevity is the goal. Keep your VersaDri for years to come with a base made of the best materials and world-class manufacturers.

Package Details

There are 4 packages to choose from: Standard, Deluxe, Premier, and Dual Dristation.

Every package option comes with a portable 12-volt base. You can plug it into any power source with a 12-volt plugin. I plug it into the cigarette lighter in my truck when I fish on the shoreline, and it doesn’t drain my truck’s battery.

The portable dryer base has an AC converter button that lets you quickly switch from the heated drying option to a cooling “Fan Only” option. I can conserve energy this way if I run off a generator. It also lets my dry, sensitive material like neoprene or rubber waders.

Each package also includes a pair of ShoeDri Tubes. These vented attachments can dry my shoes or socks in as little as 15 minutes if they get damp from sweat or I slip at the water’s edge. If I really get soaking wet, I can get them dry in 45 minutes top.

The Premier package includes a pair of Extended BootDri tubes for my tall rubber boots and waders. A tip from fisher to fisher; you can dry your waders using the MobilDri simply by hanging them on a clothesline or draping them over your tailgate. Then stick the boot opening over the tall vented tubes and let the warm or cool air blow up the legs, drying your waders in about 30 minutes.

VersaDri didn’t forget about gloves, either. My gloves are warm and dry in less than 30 minutes with the GloveDri vented tubes. They have finger-splayed mini tubes that dry each finger of my gloves. Each package option comes with a pair.

Finally, a company that remembers we wear headgear too. The Premier package gives me a Ytube connector and HelmetDri attachment to dry hats, scarves, and neck gaiters that snap onto the portable dryer base. For those of you like me who wear netted headgear, the fan-only option is a great way to dry the netting in less than 15 minutes.

The icing on the cake? Everything comes in a handy Drawstring bag, so I can sling it over my shoulder with my tacklebox in one hand and my rod and reel in the other. No trying to carry extra things in my hands.

Avoid Bringing Home Bacteria from your Fishing Trip

Okay, we probably all do it and don’t think twice about it, but we might toss our wet gear into the back of the truck and head home…leaving it there for a few days or a week! By the time we get back to it, it’s slimy and stinks. I, for one, am guilty. Especially when I come home from a successful trout fishing trip and can show off my captures.

But then I head back to my truck and unpack, only to smell it before seeing it. Instead of risking bacteria growth and possibly getting sick from the exposure, having a MobilDri with you on your trip and drying your gear will help kill that bacteria before it even has a chance to hitch a ride home.

Bacteria can grow and cling to wet, dark places within 1 hour. Drying your waders, boots, and gloves with a portable boot dryer with heat stops the prolonged exposure on your gear AND saves you money by protecting your gear.

Conclusion:

We get out there at the break of dawn, stand in awe as we watch fish shoot back and forth under that glassy surface, and prepare ourselves to stand in that cold fresh water trout love so much. I expect to get wet in the cold early morning and late evening weather. Still, with my VersaDri portable boot dryer that easily plugs into the 12-volt outlet in my truck, I breathe a little easier knowing I don’t have to STAY wet the rest of the trip.
