4. Lion’s Head Rocks, Dolly Sods Wilderness
Dolly Sods Wilderness looks more like something you would find in Canada with its rocky, high-altitude plateaus and spectacular vistas. The challenging South Sister Trail is an 11.6-mile trail that will take you up the most active of the three volcanoes. It last erupted about 2,000 years ago and geologists expect it to erupt again soon so they monitor it closely.
